I get a lot of email. And I have varying degrees of responsiveness. But I appreciate all email that is sent ... it's just that I may not write a whole post about it. Well, I have a couple of sparkly gems in my inbox that I wanted to share, so I'm taking a cue from Mish and doing an inbox-cleanup cum link post. My apologies to folks who hate these.
New Social Bookmarking & Productivity Tool: Ziizo
Waleed from Ziizo sent me a) a very nice pitch email and b) a "You Are Mighty" aninote (warning, turn your sound down if you click on the Mighty link. I finally got around to checking out Ziizo today. It looks pretty interesting - straightforward social bookmarking but includes ability to have a "to do" list (via a "to do" tag) and the ability to mark tags public or private. It imported all my delicious bookmarks, but marked them all as private. It's a bit onerous to put them all as public (would love a batch feature for this) so I've only marked a few for now. Ziizo is in private beta .. though Waleed has given me an invite code (mynameiskate) that you can use if you want to check it out. I like the public/private tags. It also has public/private notes. Though it doesn't have popups (a feature) I haven't figured out how to add an annotation to a bookmark in situ .. I have to go back to my Ziizo page to add it the annotation. So, either I'm missing something or this functionality isn't available (yet?).
Second Life Avatar Button
I'm a big fan of blog badges. It's partially my attraction to shiny things and partially my penchant for collecting things. I've been quite restrained on my adding of blog badges lately, but will be adding this one. Created by Mario Parisé, this is a nice easy way to put your avatar name on your blog. Simple & elegant. I've asked him to see if he can make an app so it would include a thumbnail pic of your avi as well. Hattip to Ed for the link.
My SL name is

If you don't read Sean Moffitt's blog (and why don't you?), at least check out one of his latest posts: 167 facts and stats about word of mouth that make you go "hmmm ...."
Speaking of Social Bookmarking
eBizMBA rates the top 30 social bookmarking sites. Plus a bunch of other top sites. Interesting resource. Another hattip to Ed.
Developing a Facebook App
Rich McIver from softwaredeveloper.com sent me a link to their new resource: How to Develop a Hit Facebook App - 29 Essential Tools and Tutorials. Great stuff!! And don't think this is just for geeks! There are at least 10 marketing and/or metric related tutorials/articles!!
The Denver Egotist ... Helping Denver Suck Less
OK, when I first got the notice about this one, I almost deleted it. WHY are they telling me about local Denver blogs?!? The included their manifesto which has a lot of big words and complex sentence structures (like any good manifesto, I suppose). But then, I finally visited the Denver Egotist. And I got it. Oh, it's a blog for local creative talent in Denver. Some good writing, some great visuals, some witty humour. They don't reveal their identities. Andy Bosselman (a Denver copywriter) blogs the response he got when he asked who was behind it.
Google's Public Policy Blog
Did you know Google has a public policy blog? Their view on government, policy and politics? Yeah, neither did I.
Cool Shopping Navigation - endless.com
This is some of the best shopping navigation I've seen. Check out the handbag section. You can broaden and narrow searches without reloading the page by type, brand price and colour. It's quite a lovely interface. Hattip to Sean.
Whew ... that's all for now. My inbox is now 17% tidier PLUS I got to share some interesting stuff. Everyone wins!
