Instead of Friday cat-blogging, I'm summing up a couple of tech things that have been floating around my head:
First .. there is a meme going around. A "what Web tools do you use" meme. I haven't been specifically tagged, but I wanted to chime in. So here's the thing. Most applications (feedreaders, email programs) to me are all the same. I use what I use because I've always used it, but could change if I had to. But there are two things that I will never give up: SnagIt and Typepad.
SnagIt is like the best light-weight screen cap and pic editing tool around, bar none. I could not do the numerous powerpoints, reports or blogging really without SnagIt. Try it for 30 days. It will change your life.
Typepad is my blogging platform. I love Typepad. The interface is great; the new widgets are great. If you want to get all geeky you can do custom CSS. If you don't want to, you don't have to. And Typepad just got better because they finally built a little interface tool for Technorati tags. Thank you, Typepad!
Speaking of Typepad, Leesa Barnes over at Podonomics (check out her site .. she is a podcaster extraordinaire and publishes incredible tips, tools, and tactics for podcasting) is looking for new blogging software. She's fed up with Blogger. I've recommended Typepad (of course) but also the use of an offline blogging editor like Qumana. If you have any recommendations on the software that you use, drop her a note.
