This Sunday is Toronto's The Word on the Street! I haven't been since they moved it from Queen Street up to Queen's park a couple of years ago. Am very excited. I love WOTS!
One of my favourite booths is CBC's tent/stage. But they're not having it this year. [Sigh. Can we *please* resolve this?] They are having a "Beyond the Page" tent that I am definitely going to. Via spacing.ca:
Spacing is also hosting a panel called BLOGGING TORONTO at 4:15 in the BEYOND THE PAGE tent, located near the south east corner of the site (near Wellesley and Queen's Park Circle). On the panel are Globe and Mail music writer Carl Wilson (http://www.zoilus.com), photoblogger Sam Javanrouh (wvs.topleftpixel.com), Reading Toronto's Robert Ouelette (www.readingtoronto.com), and Torontoist's Sarah Lazarovic (www.torontoist.com). Spacing creative director Matt Blackett will lead panelists in a discussion on how blogs are helping shape the city and create new communities.
Sounds like a great time! And am looking forward to the discussion. It would have been good if they had someone like Lex from CheapEats. Blogs like this one can really help drive a city's culture by raising awareness of hidden neighbourhood gems. Will report back.
